Any new theme we add to the Blog i360 system will need to be ported over to a Blog i360 Skin.
We create our own themes because we do not use the default wordpress theme system. Wordpress themes are coded differently by different programmers, some good, some not. Because there is no consistency across programming, the themes can create incompatibility issues with our custom coded features and plugins.
Also, wordpress upgrades tend to require updates in these themes. So themes are typically only valid for the version of Wordpress in which they were created.
The Blog i360 system a step above the rest: it doesn't get affected by updates and upgrades in our platform so your blog stays uniform throughout the different designs and through time with updates and upgrades.
For this reason, any new theme needs to be ported to a blogi360 skin. If you have a design you'd like to have ported to Blogi360 and already have a mockup of the design ready, this usually 8 hours for our designers to create the custom skin for you. Our programming charge for a custom skin is $65/hour.
Alternatively, because of the flexibility the system offers, it's possible to achieve almost any look you want by modifying the header editor, site includes editor, blogi360 drag & drop layout editor and the stylesheet editor.
If you decide to hire your own designer, they should be able to do all customizations directly via your dashboard admin area themselves with the tools outlined above.
You don't have to hire Quan$ite to create a custom skin for you. We have built the system so it is completely customizable by the users or their designers. So this way, you can choose one of our skins as your base and edit the CSS from there to achieve your desired look.
As for plugins, we can't install custom plugins because plugins have to go through rigorous security and compatibility testing before being implemented. This is for the same reasons as the themes: all plugins are coded differently by different programmers many of them are not compatible with each other. Additionally some have blatant security holes that have already been exploited in the past and have caused sites to be hacked.
For the security of our members, we test & modify and and all plugins to meet our security standards and ensure that their features are compatible with the rest of the Quan$ite system.
That said, we do accept submissions for plugin requests. We have a list of pending plugins that we continually work on and integrate once they are ready for Quan$ite.
