Pointing Your Domain Name Servers (DNS)
Pointing Your Domain Name Servers (DNS)
Solution
Once you've become a member of the Quan$ite Revolution and registered your own domain name for use with your Quan$ite, you'll need to point your nameservers (or DNS) to our hosting server.
From your domain registrar's account manager, you'll select the domain you elected to host with us. So if your domain was registered with GoDaddy or NameCheap or any of the other domain registars, you will need to log into their site to manage your domain configurations. In most domain managers, there will be an option to change your "Nameserver" or "DNS". Click on the link to edit the information. Usually on this screen, you will have the ability to set anywhere from 2 to 12 nameservers. You'll only need 4.
When you're logged into your domain manager, your domain server will probably be pointed either to another hosting account or a default parked page for the domain. You'll want to change what is currently there to read:
Nameserver 1: NS1.RPMMAUKA.COM
Nameserver 2: NS2.RPMMAUKA.COM
Nameserver 3: NS1.QUANSITE.COM
Nameserver 4: NS2.
QUANSITE
.COM
Some registrars have 3 different boxes for each component. If this is the case the first box would be NS1 or NS2 for each appropriate nameserver. The second box for both nameservers would be RPMMAUKA or QUANSITE and the third box for both would be COM.
Other registrars have a single box for each domain name server (again between 2 and 12, but you'll only need two). Enter the entire domain name server as listed:
NS1.RPMMAUKA.COM
NS2.RPMMAUKA.COM
NS1.QUANSITE.COM
NS2.QUANSITE.COM
Please note that this change will need to "propagate" through the internet and may take up to
24 to 72 hours
to take effect. Although most only take a few minutes, please be patient if you're not seeing an immediate change.
If you're a beginner at all of this, see our Knowledge Base article,
Glossary of Terms for the Beginner
.
And if you're unsuccessful at changing your name server, please file a ticket and one of our expert and friendly Support Staff will be pleased to assist you with the change.
