Can I import my existing blog to my Quan$ite?
Solution

Importing An Existing Blog

If your existing site is a blog, we can import all posts, pages, and comments from your existing blog into your new Quan$ite.

For TypePad, Blogger, and others import is $147

Import service for WordPress blogs  is $97

*Note* - For WordPress imports, you must be running WP version 2.3 or higher for your import to be completed. You can upgrade yourself prior to requesting the import of your blog. Or you can request that we complete the necessary upgrades as part of the import service. There will be an additional fee for the upgrade process as detailed below:

  • If you are running WordPress v1.6 to v2.2 the required upgrade + import is  $139
  • If you are running WordPress v1.5 or earlier, we actually have to complete two separate upgrade procedures before doing your import. In this case the required upgrades + import is $197

In rare cases, an additional investment may apply for unique situations.  We will let you know if this is the case before proceeding with any pre-import upgrades or the import itself.

To request your import:

  1. Please file a ticket on the Support Desk to request our Import Request Form
  2. COMPLETE & FAX your order form to our secure fax# 702-522-1655

IMPORTANT
Notes on Imports:

  • On images: please note that images embedded in your posts and pages will not appear properly if you do not also move those images from your current hosting to your new Quan$ite hosting account. Please mention this in your request for blog import.

If your images are currently are stored on a domain other than the one you are moving (ie: Flickr.com or a similar image host,) then no added action is required on your part.

  • On timing: imports are done on a scheduled basis, usually withing three to five business days. Please DO NOT cancel any hosting for the blog your are requesting an import before receiving notification and verifying that your transfer is complete and that name server propagation across the Internet has completed (usually 24-72 hours.)
